After some fiddling and help from Ryder I am now on the JaWug!

It’s great

I went to Uniterm on wed, got the grid (wrong connector)

I went to Uniterm on thurs, got the right connector. Tried to connect that night – useless router.

I went to Uniterm today, bought a proper wug kit, and a 19dBi grid. It will work!!!

3rd time lucky

Cape town got the 3rd most votes for the world Monopoly game! So we are the last green space ^5 to CT.

Game will be released globally on 26th Aug 2008.

We have a new guy at work! He is called Shane.

I hate queue jumpers. What makes them so special to be able to just not wait like everyone else?

They push in like it is their right to be ahead of you – sigh.

Snot Put

Getting onto the WUG is not an easy task.

Starting off from nothing – not knowing a thing about “long range” wifi it is all quite daunting at first. I thought that this was another type of wireless… not your good ol’ plain ol’ wifi.

Turns out it’s just the same – with stronger antennae, and more customisable equipment. So I got my hands on a little router and am getting a grid antenna tomorrow… Holding thumbs…

Edit: Tomorrow was yesterday. Got the antenna and cable, but they fitted the wrong connection to the pigtail! So had to drive all the way to the “south” to get it re-connected. Tonight is the night I connect!

This is my first attempt at blogging and I am so impressed with this WordPress. They have made it so simple and easy to set up. Got a new theme and will start tweaking it tonight

It even has a built in spell checker! What more could I ask for?
