Quite an oldie, but my sister showed me yesterday.

It’s painful to get the error message that says “Windows cannot detect the drive…” in windows set up!

I recently had a motherboard replaced in an hp nw9440 notebook and thought that it might be the bios being out of data for the sata capabilities. But after the update (see my previous post) setup was still not detecting the drive.

Thanks to windows XP setup can not find hard drive and user cjr056 I came right.

Look for the SATA native mode, and turn it off – hey presto, it works

I needed to update the bios on an HP notebook.
My main issue was finding the dos files.
Dont forget to use FAT32 not NTFS

I have just upgraded my WordPress to 2.8 – w00t.

Seeing that it is dark when I drive home and there is traffic, I came up with a little “game” or time occupier while driving home in the joy of Midrand to Fourways traffic.

I count the number of cars that have one or more of their lights not working. Either back lights, front lights, or a single fog light.

So far – on average – it works out to 1 per minute! I generally count 30 to 40 on a given trip home.
