It’s the first day of the World Cup in South Africa and I am obliged to make a post – naturally.

First up is the Google-doodle competition.

The sad news of Nelson Mandela’s great grand daughter being killed in a car accident is a shocking fact that it can happen to anyone. Condolences go out to Madiba and his family.

Johannesburg – Former President Nelson Mandela’s great granddaughter was killed in a car crash while returning from the 2010 FIFA World Cup kick-off concert in Soweto on Friday morning, the Nelson Mandela Foundation said. News24

And great news for SA. There will be no strikes during WC2010!

This email has been going around with the pronunciation and wording to the Anthem. All credit to the designer and who ever came up with this!

This is shocking. Who ever decided that this guy should sing our anthem should be fired.
